Elisabeth Finch was a writer for the hospital drama Grey's Anatomy, and received great acclaim for the way she put her harrowing real-life experiences into scripts for the show. These included that she had cancer, for which she was apparently undergoing treatment while working on the show. It all seemed very admirable and attracted a lot of attention - but it turned out to be a lie.

This three-parter hears from colleagues who recall their increasingly incredulous reactions to Finch who, at one point, seemed to have a personal connection to every issue going. Finch had a story relating to her experience of abortion and to sexual assault, and claimed to have a friend who was murdered during the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting in 2018.

The jaw-dropping account of the scale and impact of it all just gets worse and worse but, of all those telling their stories here, the most moving is her ex-wife Jennifer Beyer, who had more than enough going on in her own life before Finch came along. Finch has since apologised for her actions, saying, 'I trapped myself in an addiction of lies.' (Three episodes)
