Mississippi Aquarium releasing Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles

The Mississippi Aquarium will be releasing 16 endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles in front of Edgewater Mall Thursday.

The release will happen at 4 in the afternoon on the beach in front of the mall.

The Mississippi Aquarium crew has been working to release the turtles, the animal care facilities and veterinary teams working together to return the turtles to full health.

Originally these turtles were stranded off the Coast of New England during a cold-stun event.

Everyone is invited to come out and view the release.
