Jaguar has recently confirmed that it will bring its I-Pace electric SUV at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show to be held in March next year. The car was first showcased as a concept at the 2016 LA Motor Show. The production model will likely carry forward most of the design cues of the concept. The Jaguar I-Pace concept model was equipped with an electric motor at each axle, resulting in a combined power output of 400 hp while the torque figure stood at 700 Nm. However, the exact specifications of the engine that will run the final version are a mystery at the moment. At the time of showcasing the concept, Jaguar had claimed that the I-Pace will get a range of 500 kms on a full charge, all thanks to its 90 kWh battery. The company had also claimed that the Jaguar I-Pace will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a matter of 4 seconds.

According to some latest reports floating on the web, the Jaguar I-Pace has just completed later stage testing in Los Angeles. The eco-friendly SUV is important for the manufacturer in multiple ways. The Jaguar I-Pace is the first ever all-electric production SUV to be manufactured by Jaguar Land Rover. For this reason and in order to leave no stone unturned, the company had built close to 200 prototypes and handed them to 500 engineers before they decided to give a nod to the final production model.

Jaguar has been testing the I-Pace quite rigorously and the much-hyped electric SUV has completed over 1.5 million mile test runs. The battery life after the tests is predicted to last for at least 10 years. The reports further add that the production-spec Jaguar I-Pace will charge quicker than the concept model.

The Jaguar I-Pace is expected to be sold internationally soon after it makes its global debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. As far as India launch is concerned, there is no clarity at the moment whether the British manufacturer will consider bringing this car to the country or not. With the first unit of the Tesla Model X recently arriving in India, there is already a lot of hype around such exotic electric machinery, making some sort of a case for Jaguar to give it a thought.
