Apollo Automobil, the Chinese-backed Italian automaker has released a teaser video of it’s upcoming the IE hypercar, which is said to compete with the Ferrari LaFerrari and Aston Martin Valkyrie. The Apollo IE hypercar will be officially unveiled on 24th October in Italy. The teaser video hints a few design elements and showcases some parts of the interior as well. It features Scottish racing driver Marin Franchitti sitting behind the wheel. Although the company has not yet official disclosed any details about the car such as engine and performance, but going by the teaser video, it is expected that chassis of the upcoming Apollo IE will be made entirely of carbon fibre material. This means that it will light in weight.
The IE stands for ‘Intensa Emozione’ and has been developed by Apollo in Italy. The car was first designed on a blank sheet of paper. With the new Apollo IR hypercar, the company aims to bring back the connection between driver and car that it claims has been lost due to the increasing presence of autonomous technology.
