McLaren teases new hypercar due out in early 2018

The new car aims to deliver intense driver experience on-track at the expense of daily usage

McLaren teased a new hyper car as part of their ultimate series of cars, set to be unveiled in early 2018 – likely at the Geneva Motor Show.

“Its mission is to be the most extreme, track-concentrated road car McLaren has yet designed,” according to a press release. It’s expected to be different from the upcoming, three-seat BP23, as well as the P1 and P1 GTR. Instead, this one is meant for both road and track use.

While details are scant, McLaren says the daily usability has been sacrificed for the sake of the driving experience on a race track. The design will be following McLaren’s philosophy of form-follows-function.
